NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week

Fr. Zach Garren #53 - LB

Garren earns NJAC Defensive Rookie honors for the third time this season after playing a key role in the Profs' 35-14 NJAC road win at Kean. In the victory, he notched eight total tackles, including five solo stops, as Rowan improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC. Garren currently ranks 19th in the NJAC in tackles with an average of 5.7 per game.

NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week

Fr. Davon Edwards #38 - RB

Edwards earns NJAC Offensive Rookie honors after leading the Profs in rushing in their 35-14 NJAC road win at Kean. He finished the game with 11 carries for 43 yards in the victory which kept Rowan on top of the NJAC standings with a 4-0 league mark. Edwards also recorded a 51-yard kickoff return in the win which set up an eventual Profs touchdown.

Game 5 Cortland

Jr. Keith Heimerl #45 - DE

Heimerl earns NJAC Special Teams honors after contributing to Rowan's 24-16 NJAC road win at Cortland which moved the Profs into sole possession of first place in the NJAC. In the win, he blocked two punts, both of which led to Prof scores. His first block landed in the Cortland end zone where Rowan recovered to extend its lead to 14-0. His second block gave the Profs the ball on their own 30-yard line where they began a drive that led to their third touchdown of the game. Heimerl, who currently ranks second in the NJAC in sacks with an average of 1.10 per game, also notched four tackles and two sacks in the victory.

So. Matias Spahn #52 - PK

Spahn earns NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week after scoring 12 points in Rowan's 30-20 NJAC victory over rival TCNJ. In the win, he was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts with successful kicks from 24, 38, and 33 yards apiece. He also connected on all three of his extra points as the Profs improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC. Spahn currently ranks second in the NJAC in kicker scoring with an average of 6.0 points per game.



Game 3 Robert Morris

Sr. Phil Silva #8 - WR

Silva hauled in two touchdown passes during Rowan's comback from a 28-7 deficit in the 3rd quarter, including the game tying touchdown with 37 seconds remaining.

Jr. Mike Orihel #4 - QB

Orihel earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after rallying his team for a comeback victory in overtime over Division I-AA Robert Morris. In the win, he completed 22-of-38 passes for 327 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two scores in the victory in which Rowan rallied from a 28-7 second half deficit to improve to 3-0 overall on the season. Orihel currently leads the NJAC in passing yards per game (346.3), total offense per game (342.3) and passer efficiency rating (160.0).

Fr. Zack Garren #53 - LB

Garren earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after helping propel the Profs to a 35-28 overtime victory over Division I-AA Robert Morris. In the win, he notched eight tackles, including one of a loss. With Robert Morris facing a fourth-and-goal from the Rowan 3-yard line, he intercepted a pass that prevented a score and started the Profs on their comeback. Garren currently ranks 27th among all NJAC defenders in tackles with an average of 4.2 per game.

Jr. Mike Orihel #4 - QB

Orihel earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after playing a part in all seven touchdowns scored during the Profs' 49-3 NJAC-opening victory over previously unbeaten Western Connecticut. Through the air, he completed 23-of-25 passes for 298 yards and five touchdowns including scoring strikes of 22, 47, 17, 16 and nine yards. On the ground he rushed for two scores to help the Profs improve to 2-0 overall on the season. Orihel currently leads the NJAC in passing yards per game (356.0), total offense per game (345.0) and passer efficiency rating (171.5).

Garren earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after contributing in the Profs' 49-3 conference win over Western Connecticut. The third-leading Rowan tackler in the game, he finished the day with five total tackles (three solo and two assisted). Garren currently ranks 49th among all conference defenders in tackles with an average of 3.0 per game.

Jr. Ulysses Encarnacion #3 - RB

Encarnacion earns the first NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after playing a key role in the Prof's season-opening 21-14 road victory at Christopher Newport. In the win, he rushed for 143 yards on 24 carries for a 6.0 yards per carry average. He also notched two touchdown runs of four and nine-yards apiece. His nine-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter proved to be the game-winning score for Rowan.
